Vintage Hand-Knotted Persian Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Persian are rug. This wool rug begins with a hooked, stepped medallion over a serrated lozenge. It features stylized boteh and shah abbasi along with animal figures and floral elements worked in azure, watermelon, camel, green and ivory over an abrash scarlet ground. Framing the field are floral meander guard borders and a main border containing arrow heads and serrated leaves. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing with short ivory warp fringe at either end. It is not labeled.
