Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Persian Mashhad area rug. This wool rug offers an eight pointed star medallion to the center of a deep rich scarlet field. It features dense ornate, curvilinear floral designs utilizing palmette and boteh to the field, spandrels and borders. These elements are worked in indigo, pink, peanut, ocean blue, grey and ivory. Multiple resolved borders in stylized herati patterns complete the rug with overcast selvedges and short cotton fringe at either end. It is not labeled.
