Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Persian Tabatabe Tabriz room size rug. This wool rug begins with a large floral medallion and attached pendants over a rich scarlet red field. Joining the field are complimentary spandrels layered in a palette of ivory, azure, and scarlet red filled with delicate floral arrangements. Framing the rug are carnation meander and running water guard borders with a stylized herati main border boasting shah abbasi pendants. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing with ivory warp fringe at either end. It is labeled with a tag to the verso indicating country of origin.
