Vintage Persian Heriz Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Heriz wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of persimmon, ivory, indigo, tea, taupe, chocolate, and salmon. The persimmon field features a large central pendant medallion along with stylized scrolling geometric shaped floral and foliate motifs, which follow to the spandrels. Framing the field is a serrate minor border, a split leaf and a pair of leaf and flower bands flanking the primary border infilled with a stylized flower and meander pattern. The selvedges are overcast and there is natural warp fringe at each end. There is a small label attached to the underside.
