Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Zanjan wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of carnelian, sepia, ivory, mocha, charcoal, and apricot. The serrated carnelian colored lozenged field begins with a large lobed pendant medallion infilled with chains of rosettes, the chains also fill the sepia toned spandrels. Framing the field is a main X and circle patterned main border, along with a pair of meandering guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends, as well as a label to the underside.
