Item Details
A hand-knotted Caucasian Karabagh wool carpet runner. This rug is rendered in an abrashed palette of carnelian, indigo, ochre, ivory, salmon, and sepia. The carnelian hued field begins with five lobed medallions infilled with a quatrefoil florette, along with branched geometrically shaped rosettes. The field also features palmettes to the ivory grounded spandrels, as well as a number of animal motifs, quatrefoil florettes, stars, and floral motifs. Framing the field is a main floral meander border, and a sawtooth guard border. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
