Antique Handmade Chinese Square-Cornered Elmwood Cabinet
Item Details
An antique handmade Chinese armoire. This 19th-century northern Chinese cabinet is made of honey-stained elmwood with pine siding and interior. Simply designed, it has two doors with bronze-tone metal hardware including decoratively etched bail pulls and a tasseled lock rod with a wooden-chicken pendant; the interior, which is cherry stained, has three shelf areas and a wood hanging rod. Below the main compartment are three pull-out drawers with metal bail pulls. The piece is raised on four legs. It comes with a certificate of authenticity from Horsepools Traditional Asian Furniture of Hong Kong.

- numerous visible restoration marks; cracks and scrapes; at least one paint stain; hardware may not be original; the crown has broken off of the chicken lock pull.
