Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Kashan wool room size rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of crimson, indigo, ivory, sky blue, ochre, carnation, saffron, wine, and olive. The crimson colored field begins with a diamond pendant medallion, and coordinating spandrels, it features scrolling leaves, palmettes, and floral motifs throughout. Framing the field is an ornate herati main border, as well as floral meander patterns to the guard and minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
