An oil painting on canvas done in the style of Giorgio De Chirico (1888-1978). In this painting, a figure draped in deep red fabric stands beside a seated neoclassical style sculpture. The two figures are in a room with a green ceiling, and there are colored blocks attached to the torso of the sculpture. The work is signed in paint to the lower left. This piece is presented under a linen liner with a brass tone plate etched with the artist’s name to the lower edge, in a carved composite wood frame.
Giorgio de Chirico was an Italian artist, writer, and philosopher whose work greatly influenced the Surrealists. His work is characterized by references to neoclassical and baroque art combined with metaphysical elements.

- heavy cracking and chipping to frame with tape to the verso.
