Pair of Louis XVI Style Gilded Side Chairs
Item Details
A matching pair of Louis XVI style gilded side chairs. The chairs have rounded, carved and gilded top rails and back uprights with carved and gilded plume-shaped backs. The round seats feature carved and gilded wood sides, and the tops are thickly padded and upholstered in a woven silky brocade fabric with bee motifs in pink and gold. The seats are trimmed with pink and gold braid, and the chairs rest on straight, fluted tapered legs accented with carved details and gilding. No maker’s marks.
