A collection of sterling silver flatware in the 1933 Primrose pattern by S. Kirk & Son. This set includes eight teaspoons, seven soup spoons, eight dinner forks, eight salad forks, eight hollow handle dinner knives with stainless steel blades, a hollow handle pie server, a flat handle master butter, a hollow handle bottle opener, a scalloped sugar spoon, a ladle, two tablespoons, one pierced tablespoon, one hollow handle butter spreader with a stainless steel blade, seven hollow handle butter spreaders with modern stainless steel blades, and a snail fork. All these pieces feature chased foliate designs and a single flower at the terminal, surrounding a blank oval cartouche for monogramming, if desired. The back of each is stamped, ‘S. Kirk & Son Sterling’ and the collection is presented in a cherry-stained wooden flatware chest. The total approximate weight, excluding the knives with hollow handles and stainless steel blades, the bottle opener, and the pie server, is 52.87 ozt. The lot also includes a single small silver plate spoon by Wm. Rogers Mfg. Co.
