An early 20th century Singer cast iron sewing machine base with a later, poplar top. The frame features a rectangular, single-board top overhanging a cast iron, sewing machine base with pierced, scrollwork uprights joined by a lower, stretcher bar and ending in casters. Each upright is marked with an oval, trade mark seal reading ‘The Singer Mfg. Co. N.Y.’

- top with an age split and a couple shrinkage cracks; also with some former pest damage (worming) and paint marks to underside; top is not original to base; some light rust to base.
