Item Details
A vintage chinoiserie-decorated slant-front desk in the William and Mary style. The wooden, green-painted case is embellished with gilt accents and borders. There are floral sprays adorning the drawer fronts and the side panels while the slant front displays a bird and a cluster of branches against a faux-burled ground. The fitted interior features vertical dividers, shelves, and a central drawer while the writing surface extends over two machine-dovetailed, long drawers with brass-tone knobs. The desk rises on block-and-turned, front legs joined by stretchers to the square, back legs. It is unmarked by the maker.
