Antique Late Victorian Poplar Washstand, Fourth Quarter 19th Century

An antique late Victorian poplar washstand, fourth quarter 19th century. The cherry-stained case features a rectangular top with a shaped, rear gallery flanked by a pair of turned, towel bars. Directly below is a slightly-outset, long drawer over two blind-paneled doors opening to one removable, interior shelf. The washstand rises on cutout sides with an ogee, front skirt.

- case refinished with scattered repairs/restorations and contemporary reinforcements; exterior with some light paint spatter and interior with remnants of blue and green paint; slight gap between backboards; other minor surface wear as would be expected with age and use; lower, right door retains interior lock mechanism but missing key.
