Vintage Provincial Louis XV Style Low-Back Fauteuil

Item Details

A vintage provincial Louis XV style low-back fauteuil, probably second quarter 20th century. The wooden, walnut-stained frame is upholstered in red velvet and lined with brass tacks. It features a padded back and a spring seat flanked by open arms. The chair rises on cabriole legs ending in hoof feet. It is unmarked by the maker. Also included are two matching, accent pillows.

Condition

- frame with scattered scratches, nicks, and marks; left handhold with slightly heavier wear to finish; back of left arm with a joint gap where it joins the back resulting in the arm being a little wobbly; some small marks to accent pillow.
