A group of two vintage splint and rush rocking chairs. The dark-stained example features a mixed hardwood frame with ball-turned finials and open arms flanking a splint-woven back and seat. It rises on turned, stile legs joined by a spindled, box stretcher and ending in curved rockers. The light-stained chair has an arched crest over a rush back and seat flanked by ball-turned finials and open arms. It rises on turned, stile legs joined by a spindled, box stretcher and ending in curved rockers. Both pieces are unmarked by the maker.

- both with minor surface wear and marks as would be expected with age and use; splint example with a small repair to left stretcher where it meets the back leg; seat of rush rocker with some minor looseness/gaps to weaving near front, left corner.
