Ernesto Yerena Signed Serigraph "Sun is Shining"

Item Details

A 2014 signed serigraph titled Sun is Shining by well-listed American social activist and artist Ernesto Yerena Montejano. The print depicts a swirling brown, red, blue, and cream pattern that peaks in a small arrowhead and a sunburst design. The piece is signed and dated in pencil to the lower right, and is presented behind acrylic glass in a white composite frame equipped to stand or hang. Yerena’s work is fueled by his cross-national background, having been brought up in the small farm town of El Centro, California, which borders both America and Mexico. He uses his work to bring political concerns to light, creating images of cultural and political icons as well as everyday people. Yerena is the founder and curator of the Alto Arizona Art campaign (2010) as well as a founding member of the We Are Human campaign (2009). He has collaborated with many artists, including Shepard Fairey.
