Vintage Navajo Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A vintage Navajo wool area rug. The rug has been woven in a palette of persimmon, ivory, fawn, chocolate, carmine, sky blue, white, and dove gray. The central element is a large stepped diamond with hooked devices, with a large pendant medallion incorporating small squares and diamonds. On either side of the central medallion are similar motifs worked in different color combinations. At each end of the persimmon field are a pair of X-shaped braided motifs worked in fawn, ivory, and black. Framing the field is a serrated border in ivory and chocolate. The selvedges are overcast, and the ends hand finished. This rug is not labeled or marked.
