An original oil painting on canvas by listed 20th century Italian-American artist Philippe Alfieri (1921 – 2009), titled Young Girl with Purple Scarf. As the title suggests, the painting depicts a portrait in profile of a woman with dark hair wrapped in a purple scarf as she gazes downwards. The painting is signed in red to the lower left. It is presented in a wooden frame with cast surface embellishments, gold tone finish, and a hanging wire attached to the verso. Alfieri primarily worked in New York City in the 1960-70s, and is best-known for his portraiture, specifically of clowns.
