A hand-knotted Indo-Persian Peshawar style wool area rug. This rug features a sprawling floral and foliate motif with shah abbasi palmettes, lancet leaves, florets and vines in a palette of tan, taupe, sage green, burgundy, and ivory, against a black ground. It has an ivory main boder with a palmette motif, flanked by floral meander guard and minor borders. The rug is finished in hand overcast edges with natural cotton warp fringe.
