Patinated Leaded Brass Garden Sculpture of Two Children Reading on a Bench
Item Details
Metal
A patinated leaded brass garden sculpture of two children reading on a bench. The finely cast sculpture depicts a young boy and girl sitting side-by-side on a bench while reading the book Tarzan. The interior pages show Tarzan leaping through the jungle above the text, ’Tarzan’s world changes forever when he / comes face to face with humans for the first time.’ The bench itself has a scrolled, acanthus-decorated frame joined by faux-wood planks and ending in curved legs with paw feet. The sculpture is unmarked by the maker.
Condition
- weathering and residue from being outdoors, resulting in a verdigris patina; other scattered surface wear and imperfections as would be expected.
