A limited edition serigraph on paper by listed artist Richard Merkin (1938 – 2009), titled Design for Departure. This print depicts a man and woman seated against an abstract background comprised of pastel, blue and yellow tones, with crossword motifs and umbrellas seen throughout. The flat, yet textural tones are outlined in weighted black linework. Surrounding this are stylized animals including a giraffe and ostrich. To the lower margins is a handwritten inscription from the artist, as well as a signature, dated 1985, and print edition, listed 40 of 160.
