This work features a rocky river bank with a prominent spindly tree in the foreground and purple hills silhouetted against a cloudy sky in the distant background. The painting is signed ‘Freddie’ to the lower right. A handwritten inscription to the verso provides information about the painting and artist, including his full name ‘Wilhelm Carlsin Frederick Freddie’. A label from Jules Glass Shop is adhered to the verso. The work is presented under glass, double-matted, and housed in a black painted wood frame with gold-tone accents and a low-relief pattern.
