Josef Floch 1950 Lithograph "Atelierszene"

A limited edition lithograph on paper titled Atelierszene (Studio Scene) created in 1950 by well-listed painter and printmaker Josef Floch (Austrian/American, 1894-1977). The Expressionist-style piece depicts two figures seated inside Floch’s studio. Light streams through a large window to the background wall, as a doorway casts a long shadow diagonally over the paneled wooden floor below. The print is signed ‘J Floch’ by hand to the lower right and numbered to the lower left as 238 out of an edition of 275. It is matted in cream and presented under glass in a wooden frame fitted with a sawtooth hanging tab to the verso. The frame backing includes a certificate of authentication from The Collector’s Guild Ltd. of New York.

Condition

- to fair; discoloration and foxing to print; stains, marks, accretion and discoloration to mat, most noticeably to lower left; edge wear and scratching to frame; glass could be cleaned more thoroughly; foxing, discoloration and tears to frame backing and attached certificate.
