Vassel Oil Painting "Backyard at Marlotte"

An oil painting of a garden on canvas signed what appears to read ‘Vassel’ and partially titled Backyard at Marlotte. Marlotte is a small village outside Fountainebleau, France. This work depicts the hazy edge of a house as seen past a wall of trees and flowering pants, a path visible toward the lower left corner of the composition. The print is signed toward its lower right and is mounted in a gold tone frame with a ring and notation reading ‘Backyard at Morlotte/Ces Iris/1961-62’ to its verso.
