Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Turkmen Heriz wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a faint abrashed palette of wheat, cranberry, sepia, mint, apricot, and rose. The wheat colored field features rows of hooked guls alternating with poles of hooked hexagonal medallions. Framing the field is an unresolved main border of ashik forms, along with meandering guard borders, and gul patterned minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a short cotton warp fringe to the ends, as well as a label to the underside.
