Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Qashqai wool long rug. This rug is rendered in a variegated palette of mocha, charcoal, black, ivory, clementine, saffron, wheat, and emerald. The densely populated field is grounded in hues of mocha and charcoal, and it begins with a pole of six stepped diamond medallions each infilled with numerous bird motifs. The field also features diamond panels that bear branched forms, or smaller diamond motifs, enclosed by stepped zigzags. Framing the field is a main ram’s horn motif patterned border. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a twisted wool warp fringe to the ends, as well as a label to the underside.
