Vintage Hand-Knotted Persian Mahal Wool Carpet Runner
Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Persian Mahal carpet runner. This wool rug offers a diamond shaped medallion with attached pendants to the center of an abrash apricot field. It features floral winding vines using boteh and palmette devices to the remaining field in navy, mocha, cream and onyx. Framing the rug are carnation meanders along with a stylized herati main border. Selvedges are overcast, finishing with natural warp fringe at either end. It is labeled with a tag to the verso indicating country of origin.
