A Chinese watercolor and ink wash painting on paper mounted to a hanging scroll. The piece depicts Chinese guardian figure Zhong Kui (鍾馗) wearing red robes and surrounded by blessings portrayed as five flying bats. The unsigned work is mounted as a hanging scroll on paper embellished with floral-patterned silk. It is weighted with a dowel and wooden knobs to the lower section and hangs with a string affixed to the upper section.

- to fair; minor foxing and discoloration; wrinkling to paper; edge wear to scroll with several small tears present; unframed.
