An oil painting on canvas of an autumn scene with American circus performer Emmett Leo Kelly’s clown character ‘Weary Willie,’ by artist Donald L. ‘Rusty’ Rust (b. 1932). This painting depicts the figure raking up still-falling leaves, his dog sprawled out by his feet. The piece is signed ‘Rust’ toward its lower left and is presented in a gold tone frame without hardware for hanging, ‘1990, Rust’ noted to its verso. The oil is the original design for a ‘seasons’ designs on a collector’s plate series.
