A mid 20th century oil painting on board of a post-impressionistic landscape, signed ‘C.P. Jackson’. This work features a hilly landscape, likely of the American West, populated with trees and foliage. The composition is rendered with thick brushstrokes and pastel color patches. The work is signed to the lower left. A handwritten inscription to the verso appears to read ‘Boulder Canon’ possibly referring to the subject of the work. The composition is presented in a gilt gesso and wood frame with acanthus leaf and foliate moulding.
