Item Details
A hand-knotted and embroidered Baluch Mashwani carpet runner. This wool and goat hair rug features a lattice pattern incorporating keychain diamonds with a kochak cross motif throughout the field in a palette of scarlet, indigo, latte, russet, and olive green. The field is framed by a wraparound border in a blue zig-zag on red ground. Selvedges are double overcast, and the rug finishes at each end with indigo and scarlet banded kilim skirts, embellished with embroidered chevrons and slanted lines in the inverse color, and incidental warp fringe made of goat hair. The runner is unlabeled.
