A limited edition serigraph on paper Rhombus III by Wisconsin artist Marko Spalatin. This minimalist geometric print is composed of two symmetrical chevron patterns in red, yellow, green, and blue overlayed with an angular gray-scale design against an expansive white background. This piece is signed, titled, and numbered 37/80 by hand in graphite to the lower margin. This piece is presented beneath glass and in a natural wood frame. Spalatin, a native of Yugoslavia, moved to the United States in the 1960’s to pursue an art career. Know for his Op-art pieces and Hard-edge abstraction Spalatin’s work is in the collection of museums worldwide, including Museum of Modern Art in New York City, the Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris, the Tate Gallery and Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Library of Congress in Washington D.C.
