Vintage George III Style Gainsborough Library Armchairs in Mahogany

Item Details

A pair of vintage George III style Gainsborough library armchairs in mahogany. The frames are upholstered in striped, crimson fabric. They feature padded backs and seats flanked by open, padded arms with downswept, floral-carved supports. The chairs rise on square, blind-fretwork legs with pierced and scrolled returns below foliate- and shell-carved seat rails. There are no maker’s marks.
