Antique Neoclassical Style Cream-Painted and Parcel-Gilt Side Chairs
Item Details
A pair of antique Neoclassical style cream-painted and parcel-gilt side chairs, late 19th to early 20th century. The wooden frames feature turned, spindled crests above relief-carved reserves with swans, urns, and floral cornucopias. Directly below are pierced, vertical splats continuing to overupholstered, spring seats in purple, laurel-patterned fabric. The chairs rise on fluted, tapered legs in the front and raking legs in the back. There are no maker’s marks.
