Hand-Knotted Room Size Persian Tabriz Rug

Item Details

A vintage hand-knotted room sized Persian Tabriz wool area rug. The large ivory field has a dense pattern of trees, animals, flowers and vines in hues of blue, turquoise, red, cranberry, clay and black. The large border is detailed with floral wreath and bird pattern in complementary hues. It has overcast edges and dense, soft wool warp fringe to each end. A label is fixed to the verso, ‘100% wool, made in Iran’.

Condition

- sun fading, fold marks and wear along the borders and edges. Some areas have wool loss and threadbare areas, there is a patch to the back and fringe loss on both ends.
