Early 20th Century Mirrored Hall Tree with Storage Bench in Sycamore

Item Details

An early 20th century mirrored hall tree with a storage bench in sycamore. The frame features a tall, molded back centered by a beveled, oval mirror with four pairs of surrounding, gilt-metal hooks. Directly below are two open arms continuing to a hinged seat with a vacant interior. The hall tree rises on incurvate, front legs ending in paw-carved feet. The lower part of the back is marked ‘1074’.

Condition

- scattered scratches and nicks; left arm support with a slightly larger scuff; hooks with some wear/losses to gilt finish; one of the upper left hooks is broken but included; back edge of right arm (near stile) with some glue residue from a previous reinforcement.
