Vintage Regency Style Drop-Leaf Sofa Table in Mahogany
Item Details
A vintage Regency style drop-leaf sofa table in mahogany. The veneered frame features a rectangular, crossbanded top with reeded edges flanked by a pair of drop leaves with rounded corners. Directly below are two machine-dovetailed, frieze drawers on one side, of the apron while the other has two false drawers. The cockbeaded fronts are fitted with brass escutcheons and ring pulls and the two working drawers have oak linings. The table rises on a trestle base with a ring-turned, spindled stretcher continuing to rectangular uprights with downswept, reeded legs and brass caps and casters. The underside retains a partially-obscured, manufacturer’s stamp appearing to read ‘91E’.
