A mid to late 19th-century original oil painting on canvas board by listed English painter Robert T. Stuart (active 19th century). This piece depicts a lakeside landscape in the morning with cottages on the hills with smoke rising from the chimneys, the scene silhouetted by the glowing sun that casts soft light through the clouds. Artist signature is signed in pigment to the lower left, best visibility when piece is removed from framing. The piece is presented in a silver tone painted wood frame with wire to the verso for hanging.

- inpainting to approximately 20% of surface; worn frame finish; scratches to frame; light surface wear. Artist signature was photographed while removed from frame.
