A limited edition hand-colored etching on paper titled Marktplatz mit Liebespaar created in 1975 by artist Hermann Theophil Juncker (German, born 1929). The Expressionist-style piece depicts two figures standing to the center of a German city square rendered in expressive black lines, as a teal crescent moon hangs overhead. The work is signed ‘H Juncker 75’ to the lower right, titled to the lower left and numbered under the matting as 27 out of a limited edition. It is matted in tan and presented under glass in a wooden frame fitted with a sawtooth hanger to the verso.
Condition
- to fair; toning and discoloration to print and matting; debris under glass; extensive wear to edges and corners of frame; frame’s backing paper is mostly torn away.
