Vintage Oil Painting of Nude Couple with Deer
Item Details
A vintage oil painting on canvas. This piece depicts a nude man and woman sitting beside a waterfall and playing music, with a curious fawn and adult deer drinking in the stream. The work is rendered in muted burnt sienna, olive green and cerulean hues with painterly marks. It is signed by hand to the lower left, appearing to read ‘Van Dersken’. The canvas is mounted in an ornate gold tone wood frame with a liner and fillet. It is wired to hang.
Condition
- distention to surface of canvas; minor chips to gesso at edges of frame; dirt and wear to liner; notable tears to surface of canvas, including large tear to center that has been patched with duct tape to the verso.
