Japanese Painted Folding Screen
Item Details
A Japanese painted, hinged wood folding screen. The four-panel screen has matte black lacquered side and top rails, with the backs of the panels also in black. The front panels are painted metallic matte gold, and they are decorated with a variety of green plants and flowers including red and white daisies. The backs of the panels are decorated with delicate bamboo stalks in metallic gold, and the screen rests on straight rectangular legs that are trimmed with brass. No maker’s marks.
