Antique Stachelberg Company Inlaid Cigar Box

Item Details

An antique advertising cigar box. This commemorative cigar box features hardwood construction in a light finish with geometric and foliate inlays on both the inside and outside of the box. The inside of the lid has an inlay that reads, ‘M Stachelberg & Co 1857 1907.’ Michael Stachelberg was a Prussian immigrant who opened a cigar factory and import house in New York City in 1857 for the production of clear Havana cigars and the importation of Cuban cigars.

Condition

- small splits in the lid, small pieces of inlay missing, would benefit from light cleaning.
