A hand painted porcelain bisque relief. This work depicts two people adorned in aristocratic, circa 17th century clothing, seated within a lush, wooded environment. The woman tenderly pets a spotted goat while they both look onward at a man playing from a flute. The oval mid-relief is mounted to a hunter green velveteen backing, which is placed in a gold tone wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso.
Condition
- repaired cracks to right arm and hand of male figure and to left leg of calf; chip to left thumb of female figure; accretions throughout panel and backing; cracks and marks throughout frame; discoloration and wear to frame.
