R. Wallace & Sons "Cairo" and Other Sterling Silver Flatware

A collection of sterling silver flatware. This includes a group of flatware by R. Wallace & Sons in the Cairo pattern, first introduced in 1908, which features a shaped handle with a threaded border. The forty-four piece group includes eleven dinner forks, eight salad forks, ten soup spoons, three teaspoons, two fruit spoons, and ten butter spreaders. All have personalized engravings to their handles and are marked ‘RW &S Sterling’ to the backs. They are presented with eight dinner knives with stainless blades in the Craftsman pattern by Towle, two teaspoons in the Fairfax pattern by Gorham, and a jelly server by Durgin, all marked ‘Sterling’ to their handles. The collection comes in a Reed & Barton wooden flatware chest with green felt-like interior lining. The total approximate weight, excluding dinner knives with stainless blades, is 49.480 ozt.
