Antique R & W. Wilson Coin Silver Shaving Mug
Item Details
An antique coin silver shaving mug by R & W. Wilson of Philadelphia, PA active from 1825-1846. The mug features a round body with die-cast foliate detailing to the rim and base, a scrolled handle and a round insert that rests in the top of the mug used for soap. An applied rectangular slot to hold a razor is attached to the front and features an engraved three letter monogram to the center. The mug is topped with a stepped dome lid surmounted by a pheasant finial. The mug is marked to the underside ‘R & W. Wilson’. The total approximate weight 16.345 ozt.
Condition
- minor surface wear including faint markings, small dent to bottom rim, minimal tarnishing and personalized engraving.
