A mid century lithograph poster on paper for 1955-56 bullfight events held at Plaza México, printed by Ortega of Valencia and featuring color graphics after Spanish poster artist J. Reus. The piece depicts a bull and matador in the midst of a heated bullfight, with text to the top and bottom advertising events featuring celebrated bullfighters of Mexico, Spain, Portugal and Venezuela. The print is signed in plate to the center right and is additionally marked ‘Ortega, Valencia, 1612’ in plate to the center left. It is presented unframed, mounted to a cardboard backing.
Condition
- notable wear and discoloration throughout print with scattered scuffs, surface abrasions and media loss; wear and tears along edges of print and cardboard backing; tears and peeling tape to verso; torn corners to lower edges of print; hole to upper right.
