1911 Winston Churchill Signed Correspondence as Home Secretary

Item Details

A 1911 signed letter of handwritten correspondence from Winston Churchill (1874-1965), then serving as the Home Secretary. The letter is written on Home Office embossed stationary and details Churchill offering to look into an issue for a person named Samuel. The letter is presented beneath glass, blue matting, and encompassed by a black and gold tone frame with a sawtooth hanger affixed to the verso. Winston Churchill served as Home Secretary from 1910-1911, during this time he implemented a prison reform program. He served in several positions of the British government, notably as Prime Minister during World War II from 1940 to 1945, and a second term from 1951 to 1955. The piece is accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity from James Spence Authentication.
