An oil on canvas landscape by listed Midwest artist William A. Eyden (American, 1893 – 1982). The painting depicts a bucolic autumnal wooded landscape, rendered in golden tones and in impasto paint application, with a leaf-strewn dirt path winding between majestic beech trees. The painting, which is signed to the lower left corner, is presented in a vintage faux painted wooded frame, wired to the verso for wall hanging, outfitted with a painting light to the top. William Eyden, born in Richmond, Indiana, was best known for his Indiana landscapes with trees. He is mentioned in both Who Was Who in American Art and Davenport’s Art Reference and Price Guide.
