A Chinese painted ceramic figure of Guanyin. The piece depicts the bodhisattva as a female figure in multicolored robes, embellished with painted gold tone accents throughout. The figure is depicted wearing an elaborate crown and a necklace with five hanging pendants, seated on a rounded base with hands posed in the vitarka mudrā gesture. No signatures or maker’s marks were found.

Condition

- to poor; edge wear, chipping, nicks and loss of paint throughout; marks, flaking paint and crazing to surface; scuffing to underside.
